Another one home-bred by the Ryans, and a half brother to Cherubini Z, this bay covered a small number of mares as a young horse and had about 15 foals on the ground. County Waterford – breeder Margaret Moore will produce his first foal, the sis-year old Annstown Concorde, under SJAI rules this year.
Royal Concorde did a fair bit of traveling on the continent in 2007, placing in Modena, Cervia, Hamburg (where he was third in the Speed Derby) and Bourg En Bresse. In England he won a 1.40 class at Pyecombe and finished third in the Speed Derby at Hickstead, having won one of the qualifiers. He rounded off his season when fifth in the Grand Prix at Kill and already this year finished sixth in a 1.40 class at Arena UK. “This is horse is very easy to ride and is ultra consistent. It’s good to have him on the lorry as he always performs well. He’s another hopeful heading down the international Grand Prix route.”
